Certainty

Message/Experiment of the Week:

When was the last time you had 30 minutes of certainty in your life? Certainty is what allows you to get into a state of flow where your attention is completely absorbed in an activity. Flow allows you to stretch your mind and body to their limits in pursuit of a difficult or important task.

The video below does a great job of providing tips to create windows of certainty and flow in your life.

For an experiment this week play around with windows of certainty with no distractions and see if you are able to get more done and have better overall experiences.

Quote of the Week:

  • “The best moments in our lives are not the passive, receptive, relaxing times - although such experiences can also be enjoyable, if we have worked hard to attain them. The best moments usually occur when a person's body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile.” ―Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience
