Fear and Laziness

Message/Experiment of the Week:

How often do fear and laziness keep you from living the life you truly want? Fear and laziness are two of the biggest things that hold people back in life. At the end of the video below Ed Mylett contrasts how you can continually improve and become a truly happy and amazing person starting today, or you can be fearful and lazy and a sad and pathetic person. He goes on to say that maxing out and expanding your life is heaven, and that living a scared life below your potential is hell.

You were meant to do something great with your life no matter what you have done up to now. Ed Mylett’s alcoholic father is a great example of this, and he has left a legacy that has positively impacted his son and millions of others.

For an experiment this week, look at where fear and laziness are holding you back in your life. Then identify the one change you can make this week that will move you the most toward the life you truly want (quit drinking alcohol, spend more time with family and friends, walk or run a mile each day, etc.), and courageously do it.

Quotes of the Week:

  • “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

    Frank Herbert, Dune

  • “You must work and do good, not be lazy and gamble, if you wish to earn happiness. Laziness may appear attractive, but work gives satisfaction.”

Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl
