The Law of the Harvest

Message/Experiment of the Week:

Is your life yielding the fruits you want? In life there are principles/universal laws that yield similar results every time they are followed. One of those principles is the law of the harvest. If you plant a good seed in a good environment and water it properly it will grow and yield abundant and amazing fruit. Our lives work the same way. If we have a good seed/purpose, and put it in a good environment/plan, and then water it/persist we will realize our purpose. If our purpose (seed) is to become financially free, then our plan (environment) could be to invest $10/day in something with at least a 5% return (S&P 500 Index Fund, etc.), and our persistence (water) could be doing it for fifty years. This would yield at least $800,000.00.

Many of us have a purpose/wish we want to achieve, but we don’t come up with a plan and stick with it long enough to harvest the fruits of our labors. Also, often before we can plant a garden we need to clear the soil of weeds (unproductive/self-sabotaging thoughts, worries, and limiting beliefs) to make room for what we want to grow, and that takes a lot of work. Then it takes nurturing and time for the new seeds to grow, and most of us don’t stick with it long enough to harvest the fruits of our labors.

Napoleon Hill in his timeless book “Think and Grow Rich” shares a story about a miner who gave up his dream of becoming a wealthy gold miner when he was just three feet from a massive gold vein. The junk man who bought his mining equipment kept mining where the other man had quit and found the gold and became a millionaire many times over. How many times do we give up when we are only three feet from the gold?

For an experiment this week, figure out your wildly important/definite purpose, create a plan to make it a reality based on principles that have been proven to work, and then persist at it until you harvest the fruits of your labors.

Quotes of the Week:

  • "Nobody cries at a funeral because the world will be missing out on another pretty face. They cry because the world is missing another heart, another soul, another person. Don’t wait until it’s too late to focus on what will actually matter: creating something that lasts far beyond your body.”

    —Brianna Wiest

  • “The point of anything is not what you get from having done it; it’s who you become from having gone through it.”

    —Brianna Wiest

  • “Your new life is going to cost you your old one. It’s going to cost you your comfort zone and your sense of direction. It’s going to cost you relationships and friends. It’s going to cost you being liked and understood. It doesn’t matter. The people who are meant for you are going to meet you on the other side. You’re going to build a new comfort zone around the things that actually move you forward. Instead of being liked, you’re going to be loved. Instead of being understood, you’re going to be seen. All you’re going to lose is what was built for a person you no longer are.”

    —Brianna Wiest

  • “You will never regret working on yourself. You will never regret investing in your future. You will never regret trying to understand someone. You will never regret being resourceful, exercising, or meditating. Spend more time doing the things you know you won’t regret.”

    —Brianna Wiest
